I am a Helsinki based architect and designer, working with wood building, material-oriented design and research with my office Studio Kantele. My projects are focused on wood and forests, in different scales and perspectives from architecture and furniture to bio- and fibre materials, I also collaborate with Aalto university. I have considerable experience as an architect from large scale public buildings to smaller design and exhibition projects.
Developing joyful, functioning spaces and sustainable solutions with material oriented design and creating meaningful projects are my main goals. In my projects I utilise the possibilities of craftmanship and new technologies. My passions lie within tackling sustainability challenges from architect's and designer's perspective, and finding a balanse between the built world and wilderness. I spend my free time preferably hiking or wandering in forests, or at lakeside sauna.
I am Architect M.Sc. (2013) and Master of Art, Contemporary Design (2020)
